The Barcelona Plàstic Zero Commitment is the result of the work of the organizations of the Taula Plàstic Zero that was established on November 18, 2019 to reinforce the municipal will and commitment towards zero waste, under the auspices of the Citizens’ Council for Sustainability, within the framework of the Zero Waste strategy and as one of the responses of the Barcelona City Council to the climate emergency. The Barcelona Plàstic Zero Commitment aims to advance in the development of an effective strategy for the reduction of single-use plastic in the city of Barcelona. The Commitment includes the actions and projects for the reduction of single-use plastics that will allow us to move towards a more sustainable and committed model of society.
